Lieutenant Ronald A. Esworthy

Lieutenant Ronald Esworthy retired after a 32 year distinguished law enforcement career with the Howard County Sheriff's Office. He served under six Sheriffs and watched Howard County change and grow over the years. Ron was hired as a Deputy Sheriff in 1972 and rose through the ranks, being promoted to Lieutenant under the command of Sheriff Chuck Cave.

Lieutenant Esworthy is well known for his years as a K-9 handler, with his partner Rebel, who served the office for 12 1/2 years. They were a dynamic team and were instrumental in clearing many bomb threat sites and gun recovery incidents. Ron was a great asset to the Sheriff's Office and will be greatly missed.


Corporal Sandra Timmons

Corporal Sandra Timmons began her career with the Howard County Police Department on August 25, 1969 as a records clerk. In February 1974, she transferred to the Howard County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff. In October 1988, she was promoted to the rank of Corporal and served as the Supervisor of Field Services and the Court Security Sections. On January 31, 2006, Corporal Timmons retired after 35 years of distinguished and dedicated service to the Howard County Police Department, Howard County Sheriff's Office and to the Citizens of Howard County.

 


Corporal Andrew Timmons

Cpl. Andrew Timmons began his career with the Howard County Sheriff's Office in 1981. During his career, Andy worked all aspects of the Office, including serving civil process, prisoner transports, research and planning, and a long career in our Landlord/Tenant Section. In November of 2002 Andy was promoted to Corporal and was in charge of the Transportation Section and Courthouse Security. On October 31, 2006 Cpl. Andy Timmons retired from the Howard County Sheriff's Office after 25 Years of distinguished service. Andy often volunteered his time with special events for the Office and the County, such as photography for the "Special Olympic" events, The F.O.P. Shrimp Feasts, as well as many other events. Cpl. Andy Timmons professionalism, dedication, and great sense of humor will be missed at the office by all.
